Hi all,
1966 2 Dr saloon still sporting the original Trafalgar Blue factory paint. Paint is remarkably well preserved and still very intact with exception of a very odd spot that will need some further attention at some point. Paint is good on the whole but appears lightly glazed or oxidised through age.
Not looking for a concourse finish and just want to retain originality as much as possible and I am wondering what to use to brighten up and restore some lustre to the paint.
Its old paint which is quite soft and would not stand up to much abrasion in my opinion e.g transfers to wet cloth fairly easily if rubbed with a firm pressure. Had thought about using a clay bar first to try and remove any dirt on the surface and I am looking for suggestions on direction to go after that or to hear if anyone has experience with freshening up old original paint like this.
Thanks for any suggestions.
