I do not agree with you.
Like Bill I have worked in the motor trade and in the engineering environment for many many years and never had anyone question my understanding of gear ratios.
It is a good job I understand gear ratios otherwise my Quaife C/R S/C gearbox as fitted to my Minor would be producing the wrong ratios for my requirements.
As I indicated above each has their own ideas about gear ratios and it does not matter so long as the outcome is the same.
