I have just installed the steering rack and now need to attach the track rod ends. However the track rod ends are sitting 5 inches higher than the steering levers. I could put a jack under the suspension arms but I’m afraid that when I take the jack away it will put too much pressure on the steering rack. My question is do I need to adjust the torsion bar so the suspension is higher? If so, what is the easiest way to do it?
Thanks

Well I've never had all mine apart to that degree, but looking at it logically, I would say everything you have there is hanging down too much and the Front Suspension height, off load, should be correctly set before attaching the Steering Rack.

Set the Torsion Bar as per K.3 in the Workshop Manual.

I'm sure someone else will be along shortly to confirm or correct my view. :tu1:

Are the lower bump stop rubbers in place?
Looking at the above photos I get the view that they have not yet been fitted as one of the mounting bolt holes is empty.
If they are not then the suspension can fall/lower additionally by several inches.
If they are then the height of the suspension needs to be checked against the settings in the wksp manual.

You are correct Phil, I hadn’t fitted the lower bump stop rubbers. I have now.
Am I correct in thinking that It is normal to have to use a jack to lift it up to connect the steering rack and the tie bar?

Yes it is normal.
I would still check the suspension height against the workshop manual settings so as to confirm all is as it should be.
