Wheels
Hi all, anyone recommend alternative wheels to the standard moggy 14". I have heard marina wheels fit (albeit 13"). I have seen quite a few pictures of rostyle type wheels fitted to a few travellers and wondering about that possibility. I have no trouble with the wheels fitted at the moment I'm just looking at the more common sizes available. Any help please.

Re: Wheels
It rather depends upon what you want to achieve but the Marina wheels definitely do NOT fit the Minor hubs. Some Minor owners have Marina wheels because they have fitted Marina running gear and therefore have Marina hubs. Marina wheels are only 13 inch diameter.
Sprite/Midget Rostyle wheels DO fit straight on to a Minor but they too are only 13 inch diameter. MGB are 14 inch but different stud spacing means that they won't bolt straight on.
The late 8cwt version of the Minor van and pick-up were fitted with a wider (4.5inch wide) version of the minor wheel and these are very sought after. They have been replicated and sold through specialists ESM.
There are various options available if you purchase aluminium alloy wheels from specialists but I cannot think of much else which actually bolts straight on unfortunately and having tried many alternative wheels/tyres on my own Minors over the years I have found that they drive the best when fitted with standard wheels fitted with 145/80/14 tyres There is a lot of space inside those wheel arches though and there is no doubt that A Minor can be made to look good with a larger set of "boots"!

Re: Wheels
Just a recap on my tyre conundrum, I asked a local tyre fitter advice about what tyres would be ok to use. Credit to him,he helped out well and came to the conclusion that 165/70 14 tyres would be ok,due to the closeness of the suspension etc. They work well although he accidentally broke a back hub bolt to which he has ordered accordingly to fix it. So to recap my original 155/80 14 tyres are now 165/70 14. Anyone looking for tyres are definitely worth thinking about these size of tyre. Best regards.
Re: Wheels
I expect the fitter was handy with the air gun, to snap the bolt. Despite most having a torque wrench available.

Re: Wheels
165 section on standard rims? Too big in my opinion. Do ask your insurance company re this modification. You may well find you are not/would not be insured.
