A few years ago, I managed to get a pair of those chrome edge lids from a trader who didn't know the value of them.
I think I pair £10 or £15 for the pair.
I've still to fit the passenger side one, but the Drivers side I removed the chrome edge and added it to a new panel to hold my gauges and switches. That way I still have the unadulterated 'lid' in safe keeping.
.
I can hinge it down to access the back of the gauges and the relays that are mounted behind it, which isolate my trafficators from the indicators when out on faster roads (That's what Sw 1 is for on the panel, pull it when required).
I don't want the trafficators getting asked to deploy and stow at excessive wind speeds.
