Rear Light Cluster removal

Post by thetobymac »

Please can someone advise me how to remove the whole rear drivers side light cluster
1970 Morris Minor Saloon 4 Door

I cant see a way to do it at all, all I can see on the inside of the wheel arch are rusty lumps. Not sure if they were once NUTS or not.
Dont want to grind them off it there is a easy way to do it

thanks in advance

The lamp base has studs which go through the wing where washers and nuts are added. Perhaps underseal and mud have affected yours? Have a go with a wire brush and see what is revealed.

That will be the issue, the nuts are knackered! I have already had a go with a wire brush....
thanks

You might be able to force a socket on the nut or grip it with mole grips, chances are it will snap anyway if you can get to them with a small grinder or a dremel cut the side of the nut off parallel to the stud, most nuts will usually come off easily after this.
