Hi,
I went to this years rally at Chateau Impney, thoroughly enjoyed it and, as a bonus, got the chance to sit in a certain very old Minor lowlight.
So I aged the pictures to suit, what do you think?

I also wondered if others have "period" images of their cars to share?
With them in it?
Best wishes,
Mike.
1954 Series 2: 4 door: "Sally" -- Back on the ground with (slave) wheels, now being sprayed by me, slowly......
1970 Triumph Herald 1200: "Hetty" -- Driven back from Llangollen in Wales (twice.....)
1952 Morris Minor MM highlight with sidevalve engine still fitted, wants work, so joins the queue for now......
You did well to get to sit in it Mike ! You certainly look the part and very period though.
I did manage to get a photo of my car in Droitwich on Saturday night in black and white outside a nice old building and managed to photobomb NWL when the rally ended on Sunday.

Nicely done Sir!
1969 1098cc Convertible “Xavier” which I have owned since 1989.
Talking of old style pictures and Chateau Impney - Here are some old style pictures of the Blues Festival at Chateau Impney in 1968 which I attended in my Minor & which appears in my signature picture but back then was nearly ex factory. https://www.ukrockfestivals.com/Bluesol ... mpney.html
I can remember the rain even now. Back then I was young enough not to worry about the damp cloths and shoes.
I took my 4" reel to reel portable recorder and recorded many of the bands but like many things and with many house moves the tapes got lost
Happy days

How times have changed, sad really.......

I remember the showroom In Dartford, Bill, from the late 60s. The parts department was down the side of the showroom, where I frequently visited. There was three or so staff and one was quite a character, with a particular walk, he always gave me the impression of despair when I wanted bits for my Mini S. Good days, we’ll never see the likes of them again.
Yes its Wetherspoons now ! The building dates from 1910.
So, not even a decent pub, serving real beer / ale.......
This country has gone to the dogs................
Best wishes,
Mike.

Here’s a black and white one of my car outside a lovely old church a few weeks ago, and another of club cars in procession at the Glasgow Vintage Vehicle Trust.

Just reconnected after a few years off. Some lovely pictures there, and great to see posts from some old timers.
Best wishes to you all.
Great to see you back on here Steve
