First time posting. Last month my father passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly leaving behind his pride and joy a 1968 Morris Saloon. Unfortunately my Mum is not in a position to keep it as she can’t drive it and will eventually have no where to store it. I just don’t have the time to dedicate to it like my Dad used to so would love to see it go off to a home that would treasure it as much as he did. I was hoping there would be someone who could point me in the direction of a Morris expert in the North East. Happy to pay for their time etc but someone who could advise us on its condition etc so we know when the time comes to sell it. I know my Dad did a lot of work on it and used it regularly. It is starting up first time with no problems but I don’t really know what I should be looking for etc
There seems to be quite a variation in prices so I want to get it right for my Mum and so all my Dads hard work doesn’t go to waste. Many thanks in advance

Re: North East Help
Hi
Sorry for your loss, I know what it's like trying to get the 'ducks in a row' when a parent leaves us.
With regards the car, depending where you are exactly, I would recommend contacting the folks at the NEMMOC Branch.
They may have a member near you that could come around and have a look at the car for you.

As you already found out, prices vary a lot; one of the biggest factors, IMHO, is that given the 60-70 years most of the cars have been around, there's a lot of different things that have been done to them, particularly the older ones.
Yours being a 1968, there's less that might have been done, unless your dad was into Customising of course...![:)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Thank you so much for your reply. Thankfully not, he kept to all original parts. I will indeed get in touch with the NE branch and see what they can advise. Appreciate your help

Re: North East Help
Morning Laura,
I am also based in N.E. England, I would suggest you could give Chris or Yvonne at Tom Roy a ring.
They could help advertise the car for you.
They are based near Great Ayton and are the areas specialist garage for Minors.
You will get them here, http://www.tomroy.co.uk/content/home-page
We are based in Darlington, not sure exactly where you are, but if you are local I could take a look and come up with something like a valuation if that would help.
Then you could post it here on this website for sale.
Regards Dick and Judith.

Re: North East Help
Thank you so much for your guidance and offers of help. We now have someone coming from the NE club to give us an idea on its condition and hopefully a value. I will certainly take a look at Tom Roy as well.
