Re: Naming your Minor
My traveller is called Ted after my dad who had a few Minors (two travellers and a saloon) in the sixties.

Re: Naming your Minor
My dad bought our MM series 2 October 54 (LCY 171) in around 1959 when I was 7.
It was never given a name - I don’t remember it being done back then!
He put it in the garage Sept 7 1978! Well at long last ‘she’ is being brought back to life and LCY has become ‘Lucy’. The family (especially me) is really looking forward to bringing the almost 70 years old ‘lady’ gently back on the road again.

Re: Naming your Minor
Our 4 door is called Audrey after a family friend of my wife whose name was Audrey Morris.
I’m not sure what she would have made of been named after a car however!!She was a real Cockney lady and Audrey resides in Yorkshire
My other cars were Desmond and William so named after the t v presenter and the Artist.

Re: Naming your Minor
Mine gets called a lot of names I won't repeat here!
Before I replaced the engine it earned the name 'Casey Junior' due to its performance on hills.

William. My previous one was Desmond. Minors should have dignity!

Re: Naming your Minor
I've never been one for naming my cars though I must admit to calling them some unsavoury names on occasions when they wouldn't start or on the umpteenth time I skinned my knuckles working on them. When I bought my traveller though, it had such personality that even I was driven to name it and Monty was the name that came to mind - don't know where it sprang from but it just seemed right.
My wife, on the other hand has always been one for naming her cars and instantly named her traveller Mabel, so we have Mabel and Monty as our Moggy cars while our feline moggies are called Missie and Merlin. Clearly we have a thing for names beginning with M
