Do you have a multimeter that can measure resistance and voltage? That can be really helpful for fault finding.

If the wiring is correct, then remember that it could be the electronic system that has failed, but the coil is certainly an easy swap.

If you feel like it, one test you could try is:
Disconnect the electronic unit red and black (or white/black) leads from the coil.
Wedge the HT lead as previously.
White wire to coil +ve.
Take a piece of spare wire and connect to coil -ve.
Ignition ON.
Touch the other end of the spare wire to a good earth point and remove it again. This mimics the operation of the original points.
You may get a spark from the spare wire, but ignore that, the important thing is was there a spark from the HT lead? If yes, then the coil is OK, if no, the the coil is faulty.

Coil is OK then and your results suggest a fault in the dizzy. Had you a points set-up, I would be cleaning and re-gapping the points and checking the wiring in the dizzy, but as you have electronic ignition I'm wondering if that has failed.

Please do follow the connecting up instructions carefully.
If you've fried the old one with a wrong polarity connection, then doing the same thing again will produce the same result...
