Road tax
I may be selling a car relatively soon, however the tax is due end of this month, I intend to re tax for a month or two. My understanding is that the tax I put on is not transferable to the next owner, so prior to selling can I get a refund or is the remaining tax lost ?

Re: Road tax
Exactly so.
Re: Road tax
Thanks for your replies, it used to be that way but as the tax is not transferable now, I wondered if they also stopped the refund under those circumstances. Hopefully not then.

Re: Road tax
The only factor is you lose whatever remains of the month and the new owner pays for the same month as a whole. OK on our free classic VED but double is being paid on all others, a good money maker for the tax man
You now have to tax online before you drive it home.
