Advice please, new owner

Post by NoviceM »

Hello, I have just acquired a 1970 traveller. I am happy and able to do most the work required to keep it on the road. However, I am getting a little long in the tooth for crawling underneath etc. So....does anyone know of any one/garage near me dy8 5by (Stourbridge, West Mids) who I could use to do work on the traveller. I am contemplating getting a disc brake conversion again, I would need someone to undertake the work. Regards.

It may be further away than you intended but I would strongly recommend Steve Baimbridge in Twyning, Gloucestershire, just off M50 J1. We're in Bromsgrove, but Steve has serviced and MoT'ed our 1959 Traveller since we got it 13 years ago. Only a one man band but he knows his way around a Morris Minor, and he really cares about the cars.

Give him a call and have a chat with him. Tell him Keith Lyall recommended you.

A quick forum search found another person in 2019 from Stourbridge asking, the response from ShropshireMoggie was recommending:
https://www.classic-motor-cars.co.uk/contact/

Google maps says it's 13.5 miles away from Stourbridge, they may do a collect and return service.

Thanks, I know of these folks, unfortunately they are Jaguar specific.

CMC have restored other brands such as Aston Martins and a Mini so probably Jaguar is a preference but other work could be done.

The only other result for places recommended near Stourbridge (from a new forum search) was 2.1 miles from Stourbridge centre:

Although they specialise in tuning, it does say their workshop will do any work including servicing.
