On the Road!

Post by exlkrs »

One month to the day after a cagey 70 mile drive home in an untested motor that had been off the road 7 years, Alice has hit the road this morning! Although she didn't miss a beat in the relocation drive, and despite being well looked after by the previous MMOC owner, it was obvious all was not well. So the last month has seen me generally service everything, flush cooling system and replace thermostat and housing, check all steering and suspension and overhaul brakes. The main suspect of the poor running, the u/s carburettor, saw me make a good AUD 368 out of two dodgy ones, and finally replace a very worn distributor with a better version. Finish off a few bits and bobs, some rustproofing, and a good clean, and we were ready! 20 miles in the Cheshire countryside, including a return along a section of (not so) M56 Smart Motorway at a steady 60 mph, and home with no problems at all. Turned 87k on the way too. Added bonus - Royal Mail delivered the V5 whilst we were out.

A great looking Traveller. Must be quite close to the end of production. Look after it and it'll look after you! :D
