How to transport your Classic Car....

A little off topic for 'Spotted Today', since it's not a Minor, but I saw this quite respectable looking Classic 1960 Jag being trailered on the A1 yesterday, so as Mrs B was with me I had her take a snap or two.....
It looked quite normal as we approached:

Most people would use the wheels to hold it down to the trailer. I had Michael Caine paraphrased in my head saying... "Instead of that, they took the bloody doors off!"
Yes, I realise on looking at the photos that it seems to be held down by the underside, axle and front chassis perhaps, but when driving past it looked like the straps went through the car!

Should work. In the days before ratchet straps I used to tie the rear axles to the rear beam of the trailer, pull the car forwards using the winch until the rear rope tie was taut, then tie the front axles to the front beam of the trailer.
Never lost one.

Well, there was that Pathfinder on the A24.............

Looks a nice car, perhaps not a good idea transporting it at this time of year with the doors off though. Fortunately it's too cold at present for rain.
