No Honk
Mollies Horn has stopped working. I have done a trawl of the site and tried most of the simple suggestions. Anyone have any other ideas?

If you've gone as far as checking that there is power to the horn, and there is, I'd have thought the next step would be to open it up - then slacken the locknut on the fixed contact and rotate until the contacts are just separated (horn fails to sound), turn the adjusting nut half a turn in the opposite direction and tighten the locknut. Worth a go?

The horn is 'Live' at all times via the fuse which has a Purple
wire running from it (this fuse also supplies the interior light, so
is that still working)? If the Purple wire is ok then you only have
to touch the other contact on the horn to chassis and it should work??
If not then follow BIGGINGERS suggestion.

Horn time again (MOT)
I have moved and my local garage seems unwilling to accept my longstanding promise to fix the horn on my traveller in order to pass MOT
Tried all sorts at weekend, including new horn, but to no avail. Interested to read this works of same fuse as interior light - which has also gone.
Can someone tell me exactly which fuse protects these? I can only see the two in the lucas unit next to the Voltage Regulator, and one housed just below in an in-line plastic pellet. I was sure I changed out all 3, but could be wrong
PS > Is there any issue with using a universal 12 volt horn (from Halfords) on a positive earth car? The same unit seems to be recommended on some minor spares sites.
10 days and counting till 'free re-test' expires

Hello Meekcome,
if the interior light is also not working it points to the fuse or fuse holder as the likely cause. The fuse is easily identified as the one with the purple wires connected to it. The adjacent one has all green wires from it.
If you have a meter, test lamp or something to check for voltage. Failing that open the door and play around with the fuse, often the fuse holder gives a bad contact to the fuse. You should see when the light works (as long as the bulb hasn't also gone) as you make the connection.
I hope that makes sense to you.

To your PS - no, I wouldn't have thought so. Have a look at the wiring and connectors inside the steering wheel and horn push itself. I have had problems lately which were down to the copper contact not touching the ring on the steering column. Check also the connectors and wires under the driver's glovebox.

OK so you have no 12volts reaching your horn and,because the
interior light has also stopped working it appears that you have
lost the 12v supply which arrives on the BROWN wire feeding the
first fuse. Either that or the fuse and or its holder are faulty. The
brown wire is connected to terminal A on the CONTROL BOX from
where it goes back to the terminal on the STARTER SOLONOID which is
connected straight to the battery. Should be easy to trace through
but to save wasted time just run a wire from the battery to the contact
on the horn which has the PURPLE wire on it and then,when you press
the horn switch it should work.

regarding Vikingminors post, I have dual horns and one of mine stopped working recently. It would work if it was directly connected to the battery, and a continuity test showed that there was nothing wrong with the cars wiring. Adjusting the horn points as described by Bigginger solved the problem. It was a wierd result but it looked like the horn contact setting was just on the 'edge' and there was something within the wiring that was reducing the current flow to the horn sufficient to stop it working without the adjustment..
