Glove box material

Post by Ormin »

I've been doing some wiring behind the dash lately, so my glove boxes have been in & out several times. I often wonder if those glove boxes contain asbestos? It would be good to know either way. Does anyone know?
Fingers crossed they don't, as new replacements are very expensive.

I thought they were just a type of cardboard/fibre board
1969 1098cc Convertible “Xavier” which I have owned since 1989.

Definitely not asbestos. I think they are just fibreboard that has been flocked.

I believe this to be the case also.
Best wishes,

Thanks for you replies. I'm glad I asked, as I'll feel better taking them in & out in the future. Looking forward to finishing off the work behind the dash, to have the glove boxes back in.
