I had a flasher unit blow and replaced it with a new unit which blew after a day.I have recently fitted repeater lights.
Is there a relay fitted as well as the flasher unit?

flasher
NO, Not on a late car like yours. If your repeater lights are of a
high wattage you may be overloading the flashers rating? Think simple,
try disconnecting the additional circuitry.
