I'm sure this has been covered many times but a search shows thousands of possible threads.
What is the advice for running in a rebuilt 1275 engine?
Reground crankshaft and all new bearings but only a bore hone and new rings.
It's been standing for a couple of years but turned over regularly. Assembled with graphite + cam lube + oil as appropriate. All other features - head/ cam are new or rebuilt.
Thank you

Re: Running in new engine
As in the owner’s manual.
Not to exceed 45 mph. To be driven gently and not at full throttle. Avoid labouring in any gear. Not to be left ticking over excessively. After 500 miles speeds can be gradually increased.

Re: Running in new engine
Before running in you need to get oil into and around the engine notwithstanding that the engine has been assembled with graphite.
That means you do need firstly to prime the oil pump.
You can prime the 1275cc Midget oil pump by removing the block union that hold the pipe from the block to the oil filter and feeding oil down the block oil passage to the oil pump. Refit the block union, not forgetting the copper washers.
Remove spark plugs and turn the engine over until you have oil pressure. Refit the spark plugs and start the engine.
If you have a 1275cc Marina engine remove the oil filter and feed oil down the oil passages to the oil pump. Continue as above.
Once started do not allow the engine to labour or use high revs.
