Pedal floor seals?

Post by Bill_qaz »

Question, do minor 1000 have any form of grommet/ sealing where the pedals pass through the floor opening or just the carpet to prevent drafts?

Only the clutch pedal has a draft seal other than that the felt/carpet is the draft excluder for the brake pedal.

The above seal could be adapted and fitted to the brake pedal or the underside of the gearbox cover where the brake pedal passes through.

Make sure you don't have any leaks though, as felt will absorb water like a sponge and then cause a rust trap.
Worst case scenario I agree but prevention is better than cure.
Best wishes,
Mike.

Thanks Phil, it was the clutch in particular that has the gap.

Thanks Phil, it was the clutch in particular that has the gap, but ordered two and will try on both pedals. Do you stick it down or does groove fit into the floor like a grommet.

The seal in the link is lightly glued to the plate attached to the clutch pedal.
Make sure that you use the right glue as some glues tend to melt the foam.

So is the plate part of the pedal, it's not shown on the illustration I have?

The clutch pedal shown as No: 88 in the parts list is the early pedal not for a Minor 1000.
The Minor 1000 clutch pedal has the plate for the seal.
