Door cards

I'm looking to redo my door cards as there is a lot of warping .
What's the best material for the new cards? ply, hardboard, something else?
Also is it just a case of peeling back the vinyl, getting as good a template as possible from the old backing , cut out & drill accordingly & glue vinyl back on?

I'd use thin aluminium, never warp or worry about water:

Excuse me for butting in on your thread...

I am planning to do the same job soon. My cards are warped and there is bubbling of the vinyl.

Can anyone give us some tips on how to remove and reapply the vinyl? I have a later model Minor, so it has the heat welded seams.

Is there foam behind the vinyl--to puff out the sections between the seams? If so, is it easily replaced?

Any advice would be appreciated.

I do not know what the material is called but the shop I was working in replaced their signage. The old signage was made from a thin open celled plastic sheet. It was very easy to cut, waterproof and light. I made replacements for the rear cards in my Traveller. I expect a shop signage company would have something similar.

I like the aluminium panels but won't there be a gavanic(?) reaction, over time, with the metal of the door and the fastening clips? Causing both the aluminium panel and the door metal to corrode / rust?

I think I know the stuff you mean, but is it strong enough to support the clips?

I'm sure correx is the corrugated stuff? The sheets mentioned above are light a halfweight acrylic sheet which is much more rigid , more of a solid pvc foam sheet

It comes in different formats, thicknesses, weights etc as far as I know. This seems to be the stuff but you could probably get a stiffer grade for door cards.
