Finally got my Traveller back!

Hi,
After over 18 months off the road with what started as replacing some rotten wood and spiraled into a full respray, strip down, full wood replacement and a million other other jobs, I picked up my Traveller yesterday.

Along with the respray and new wood, it also had to have a fair bit of metal replaced due to damage caused by the first garage who painted it. I also replaced all seals and rubbers, window regulators, fitted new door mirrors and a full new front suspension including shocks. There were various other things too that I can't remember.

I'm really pleased with how it looks now so I thought I'd share a couple of pictures.

It's still horrendously noisy and the clutch pedal is terrible to operate so that will need looking at at some point. It's great to have it back though and of course, It's fun to drive!

Thanks for the comments, I'm glad you like it!

The colour is Trafalgar blue, the photos make it look a bit lighter than it is in reality. The chassis was all sorted a couple of years ago so now with the respray and new wood, I think the bodywork is about as good as it can be. I rebuilt the engine a few years ago too so mechanically it's good too. Steve at the Morris Minor workshop tells me that the current batch of clutch pedals is not good and to wait for a better one before changing the pedal. I'm hoping that won't be too long since it's pretty bad.

Any tips for keeping it in good condition? I used Burgess wood sealer and top coat on the wood so I'm planning on recoating the top coat once a year. I also plan to wax the paintwork regularly to keep it protected. It lives outside so I want to do as much as possible.

Sikkens Microporous coating is very good on the wood, as it allows it to breathe, and lasts for several years, whereas most varnishes, waxes, etc. need to be re-done every year or two.

In case you haven't already done so, rust-proof thoroughly and be sure to ensure the drain holes are kept clear, including the side timbers.

Beautiful looking job, well done. I rather regret not having my Traveller restoration professionally sprayed in 2k, instead of struggling with a diy celly job.
