Hello,
I'm not a member, I might become one eventually when I've finished my car but for now I'm pretty happy just being registered on the message board. I have seen an issue of minor matters and it looked pretty relevant and interesting (some magazines for some things are just adverts etc). I check the message board every day and find it interesting for topics I'll be coming to at home, etc.

A member for some time- last century and some decades before tho not without a break in early 80's when my first Minor had to be sold. Yup, I'm over 29-39-49-59 & .... Came to this thread late (slow learner)but have enjoyed working thru it. Must say when I started this I thought limiting on-line access to MEMBERS ONLY would have been auto and given big boost to membership. Now, I think the openness of the Board is more important (would have lost the pic's from NZ) and if the Club needs more paying members then we probably need to expand & jazz up the Members Site to entice it. Cheers, Ron

Yes the important thing is the common interest in the cars, we even have a branch member of over 20 years membership who has not had one for over 10 years but still needs his monthly meeting Moggie fix and a couple of others who cars have been in bits for a few years, but the thing you can miss out on by not being a member are the advert prices in the mag which are often much cheaper than you get from your local motor factor.
Cheers

Yes, some of the prices one see's in adverts directed at the general public can be a bit on the high side, and sometimes from sellers have no or only little interest.

would it not possible to identify a member from a non member when they post a message? some kind of usename recognition, like name in colour or capital letters? i'm not sure how you could do it, though.

I joined at the National Rally this year, before I bought a car. I was impressed by how friendly everyone was and think this is a great website.

Could be West Essex though...

Thank you Andrew. I never noticed that before. That's a hell of a coincidence as The Queen Elizabeth _Pub_ on Forest Side is next to my flat! and it appears there is a meeting tonight? You don't get that sort of service with modern cars :) The hunting lodge is five mins walk away with a pub of a different name next to it. Either way I'll have a poke round both to see if anyone is about.

Is anyone planning on going tonight?
