I'm trying to get hold of a replacment front windscreen and passenger window for a 1971 Morris Minor Van. Does anyone know who would do these for me (who is in, or would ship to, Chelmsford in Essex!)? Can I get them via autoglass or would a specialist be best?
Also does anyone have any rough ideas about how much these would cost?

Try Colin Moles from the Essex branch. He lives near/in Chelmsford and has loads of secondhand spares, and could probably bring them to the rally next Sunday. (You ARE a member of the branch aren't you?) New windscreens available from any Minor trader; Autoglass will fit for you if needed. Depending on your driving intentions, heated front screens also now available. I can also let you have a secondhand screen (just swapped for a heated one) if Colin can't help, again rally next Sunday; POA. Not sure about the side glass.
Where in London are you brixtonmorris? Brixton I would assume?
I'm not going to be at the rally next Sunday I'm afraid simmitc but thanks anyway! My reserve plan involved contacting the Essex branch - it's usually the most sensible thing to do!
I am in the process of having my windscreen replaced,I am supplying the rubber seal the garage is supplying the windscreen and fitting and the cost is $75,I come from lancs.

$75 !!!!! The USA is a bit too far to go to get your windscreen fixed! But it seems a good price
Last time I used Autoglass (I'd hurt my shoulder a few months ago) I supplied the screen and rubber; they fitted the whole lot, £35 - the great advantage is a guarantee against leakage "for as long as you own the vehicle" - 18 years so far!
To purchase a windscreen I was quoted around £100 so for £75 supplied and fitted I am quite happy with the price, anyway I am looking forward to going to america.
kevin-unsworth2, Kevin, I am from Manchester, got 67 2door with really badly scratched front screen.....where is this garage you speak of?

hi simmitc! That sounds a good price, but I guess what with inflation over the intervening years it will have gone up a bit. How much would that cost nowdays I wonder?
If you've got the glass and rubber just try your local windscreen fitter.
one did my sisiers mini about 10 years ago he took a screen out of a scrapper we had and put it in the runner in about 10 mins including the cup of tea! that was £10 well spent.

Juliet I had both front and rear screen rubbers done this year for £20:00 labour charge by a local RAC windscreens guy as a private job see who you can get hold of locally there is usually someone, or try the local branch.
