my fuel pump is making a slow ticking all the time.
i jknow it has to do this to deliver fuel, but mine is doing it at a slow beat most of the time.
sorry if i have not explained it very well
any help appreciated

fuel pump
I would suggest that you try without the engine running(not for too
long as you will burn out the coil with ignition on). If the pump
still ticks continually then you either have a leak in the carb,which
should be easy to check, or the pump diaphragm may have a small
split or some other fault which allows the pump pressure to drop.
You should start by cleaning the pump filter.

The other possibilty is that there is a air leak into the fuel pie before the pump
- often via the union / pipe connector at the pump.
