Door window external seals

Post by an_avenger »

Hi all - little pickle here. I don't know if anyone experiences this but whenever I walk up the car and open the door my eyes are immediately glaced to the external window seal. It looks awful - are there any replacements either original speck or new design. To be honest I think they're not that good preventing water seeping into the door but I dunno I'm not a designer. Any suggestions?

Thanx

Lee & 'Pidge' (PDG 457G).

There are some good rubber replacements around now, most minor places sell them, they really hug the glass.

My seal's are all rusty *well the bits that hold them* and I have taken the door card off and checked to see if my doors are filling up with water many times cos it makes me cringe seeing water running down the window, did u get any seal's in the end? plus tell

I think you will find that the replacement, better, rubber
seals are from a Marina. They are much more efficient, and
they also press quite hard on the glass so it cures some rattles
and draughts too. ALL glass to door seals let some water in
over time.....the moral is to make sure that the drain holes
in the doors are not blocked and to spray the inside of the doors
with Wayoyl on a warm day until it runs out of the drain holes.
