Minor/Wolseley rear brake conversion

Post by Oldmogman »

Does anybody know how to convert Wolsely rear brake backplates to accept Minor cylinders?

The Wolseley 1500 employed a very similar sliding cylinder arrangement but the slot in the backplate is a slightly different shape.

I had just this conversion on my old van many years ago, and seem to remember it involved welding thin strips into the slot for the cylinder, but don't remember the details.

Are you sure they are not the same ? Minor rear brakes are plenty adequate - with Wolsely fronts. I had W barkes on a Minor 40 years ago - was not aware of any cylinder diffrence. I will be watching with interest !
