Accelerator pedal?

Hi chaps, just a quick question. I’m fitting a new accelerator cable, is it better to have a little free play at the pedal or to have it tight? thanks in advance...

You should have a little free play in the accelerator cable.

Thanks Phil, I thought as much otherwise setting the idle is difficult. How much is preferred or is it “just a little “ ?

No specific measurement - just a little will do the job nicely.

Once set make sure that you can get full opening of the butterfly.
