HI there,
Ive just a bought a rev counter from an MG Midget 1500, that I want to fit. There are two terminals on the back, one is a bullet connector and one is a spade connector Where do this go on the engine?? I think they go on the distributor or coil....
Thanks for your help,
Tim

RE: Fitting a rev counter??
Perhaps a Midget 1500 Haynes manual might help as to the wiring, but as a general rule, the rev counter needs an earth, a live, and a connection to the contact breaker (-) side of the coil.
RE: Fitting a rev counter??
Thanks for your guidance cam, Ive got it working but as both the rev counter and my car are negative earth the signal comes from the + side of the coil. the spade connector connects to the coil, and the bullet connector is the positive feed, If anyone else has had the same confusion!! needs to be earthed through the case aswell to work.

Yes, with the rev counter and the car being neg earth, then you need to connect to pulse input to the contact breaker (-) side of the coil.
If you are blowing fuses with little pilot lamps then there is something clearly wrong somewhere. Check all connections and that you have connected the rev counter correctly.
