I've just bought one of these for the Mini. Cheap as chips but they get some good reviews, no CD but has the option of USB drive, SD card or external MP3 or the like. Not fitted mine yet so can't confirm

Re: RETRO RADIO/CD PLAYER
True retro type radios with a cd and separate volume/tuning knobs might be few and far between. I recently got rid of a modern unit that I found too clever for its own good, well at least for my liking. I had an old radio which was my preference but found it was not working. So got the next best thing, a much more user friendly unit than my original, it has a cd facility but it looked reasonably normal, without gimmicks which seem obligatory now. Not sure if you can by new now but here’s a picture. It has presets, volume up/down and seek buttons.

Re: RETRO RADIO/CD PLAYER
That's the sort I am after Les. I don't want an all singing, dancing , do the dishes etc as I just don't understand it all. Just want something I can turn the knob, put my CD in and away I go. Went to Halfords today, surprised at how few they have in there. Back in the day, they had rows and rows of them. A sign of the times I supposed.

Re: RETRO RADIO/CD PLAYER
I fitted one of these to one of the cars. Instead of cassettes or CD, it uses a USB. It is very compact. - https://www.moss-europe.co.uk/retrosoun ... 53024.html . Is been in there since 2013 and has proved reliable, albeit with limited use. For some reason, I can't upload a photo.

Hi,
Here's a UK based eBay link to the retro radio with hidden CD player that 'Bufferzone' provided the US link to above.
I have to say I like this, so will probably go for one, unfortunately the radio fitting stage may be a while off yet.......
Best wishes,
Mike.

Re: RETRO RADIO/CD PLAYER
Fitted it last week. It went straight in and connected to the existing wiring easily (generic modern multi-plug) , you do get a plug and instructions on how to wire it without the multi-plug, but that's about as far as the instructions go. There's nothing to tell you how to pre-set the radio station, how to navigate through the USB or MP3 connections or even how to set the clock but it works great once you've figured it out (fixed the clock but still relying on scrolling through the stations though). I'll keep on playing and I'm sure I'll discover it's many secrets.kbonney88 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2020 7:30 pmI also bought one of those a few weeks ago for one of our MM's..panky wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2019 10:03 pm I've just bought one of these for the Mini. Re: RETRO RADIO/CD PLAYER
Unfortunately my UK link no longer works now I'm looking for a retro style radio & CD player and the US one you listed doesn't ship to the UK???Here is a cool one.
Plus the retro ones that are listed over here don't include a CD player, proves the old saying about 'striking while the iron is hot'.............
I don't really want to fit a modern (looking) one if I don't have to but it's down to what's available......
Best wishes,
Mike.

Re: RETRO RADIO/CD PLAYER
I find the "retro style radio & CD player" loose their retro look when switched on with their backlight displays, but they are out there....
