Cam,
I think that in the UK flashing brakelights aren't really that well-known. In fact, with so many cars having high-up lights I sometimes get people who miss hebe's later-style indicators!
I would say that in America the stop/flash combination is much more known and looked out for by other drivers. Over here... people are possibly going to say "but your brakelight was flashing" if they hit you...

It's up to other road users to interpret your signals. If they are ignorant, then that's their problem.
If you can get yourself to the Heritage Museum at Gaydon, Warwickshire, then they have an archive. If you ask nicely they'll fetch out the old ledgers which will tell you the build date and simple spec of your car - all they'll need is the chassis number. Phyllis was 27th February 1962. I think. I've got it written down somewhere...

I go from the date/chassis numbers in the various reference books and interpolate the date. It's approximate but it seems to work OK.woo wrote:What do you use to approximate the build date?
In fact I worked out my 1952 MM minor's production date to the exact day!

I don't want to do this for all my cars (at £28 each!) but it's usually accurate to within a couple of weeks.
Nikki,
Yeah, I'm sticking with the later setup on the rear for now, but knowing me I'll probably change it over eventually!!!
