Hello, new to the forum and on my second Traveller, albeit some 30yrs apart. Recently bought a 65 dog with a good engine and lots of potential but in need of a lot of TLC as the pictures will show and no history....anyone recognise the Reg?
We, me and the wife, intend to do most of the renovations but there is extensive welding to be done on the chassis and so am going to source that out as it is no fun lying on your back getting splattered by weld.
Probably going to annoy some purists here but our intention is to convert it into a "Woody" Pickup as we thought it would look cool and most of the Ash Frame is shot anyway.
And yes we are aware of the structural integrity that the frame gives to the vehicle but we are using the Back Cab of a Pickup to square it off and box/rectangular section as required.
Hopefully all will go smoothly and I have a heap of questions to ask but that is later

That looks a good project. I don't know anything about the car but it was for sale at a Minor specialist last year as a running restoration project for only £650.00. The rear seat had been removed to form a flat bed.

Welcome to the forum, a nice little project you have there. As much as I like Pickups it might be easier to keep it as a Traveller. The Vans and Pickups have a separate chassis so may involve more work than you think to convert. No doubt someone will be along shortly that has done such a conversion, it’s a bonus you have a cab back panel. Sorry to rain on your parade but I thought it best to mention a possible pitfall before you start dismantling it.

Thanks, you are correct, the rear seats had been removed and the windows had been spray painted. It was being used as a car boot sale runabout however we did not pay that price

Cheers John, yes we are aware of the chassis differences but you gotta give it a go and retirement breeds plenty of spare time

Looks a fun project, a car is only worth what you're willing to pay for it, if you're happy, it doesn't matter what it cost.
