Roughly £3500, but that's in UK so no idea if it would be different for you (tax / shipping etc..) and they are also available via Nordske, so you don't have to stick to UK prices.Does anyone know how much a new shell ( as advertised in Minor Matters) would cost??? I daren't call the people you know

Where's Brixtonmorris.......surely he must have more than 5.fweddy wrote:I still don't believe i'm the only one with 5 - why don't some of you be honest.
Maybe he's in the same boat as me . I can't vote, there's not an option suitable for over 20 Morris Minors .

Its OK for you down under guys as you tend to have more space to keep or store a good few Moggies but in most of the UK especially in the towns we struggle for a bit of off road parking of any sort, were you seem to have your own personal car parks
Cheers

Which is why you need to convert your garden (like I'm doing at the mo) so you can house more cars!Kevin wrote:Its OK for you down under guys as you tend to have more space to keep or store a good few Moggies but in most of the UK especially in the towns we struggle for a bit of off road parking of any sort, were you seem to have your own personal car parks

Having a Dad who has 20 or so acres in the country sure comes in handy .Kevin wrote:Its OK for you down under guys as you tend to have more space to keep or store a good few Moggies
I've managed to squeeze in 7 cars at my home but only 4 are Morries, sorry, Moggies .
Hey, Fweddy, you'll have to come to Sydney or Melbourne next time: plenty of Morries there .

ok I'll give it a try more Eastern next time - although last time I went, I flew into Syndey and drove up to Coffs Harbour and never saw one in 2 weeks (I was up in the hills for most of the time.) - I did come across a morrie lover who pulled out her stash of photos.
They all must be further south!
BTW, We have a simular ratio of minors per acre - you have about 1 minor per acre - same here. I have 5 on 5 acres + Dad's car. What percentage of your are road worthy?
I was looking at buying a 30 acre block of land recently, I wasn't intending to keep the same ratio even though I'd be happy to, but one bloke can't keep up with that many minors, can he?

I had 4 on the road until recently. Now only 3 as it's hard to get to use them all .
I guess 2 or 3 more would be near roadworthy standard but the rest are future projects (Traveller, Convertible, mint 4 door & other Lowlights) & spare parts cars.
Yes, around 1 minor/acre on one condition.....they have to be out of sight. There's 5 shedded & the rest are "down the back" of the property, very well hidden by bush .
30 acres would be ideal to store spare cars.......you can never have too many spares .

Don't know why, but the title made me think of a slightly twisted version of a Dylan song (twised by me of course)
"How many mogs must a man drive round, before you can call him a man
and how many times must a beetle die, before they are forever banned"
not that I have anything against beetles, but there seems to be quite a high proportion of people on here that do!

Right, well........ erm. For the budding sleuths amongst you (if you were bored enough to notice ) you might have seen that I had been recently mentioning 'housing more cars' and asking about grey colours!
The reason is that I have now gone from 3 Mogs to 4 Mogs!
The recent addition is a 1964 2 door saloon in Dove grey (although the chassis number corresponds to around mid/late September 1963).
Frank (frank308d) was in need of passing on his new car (the one with the ignition light issues) so I had it off him as it sounded like a good 'un with just a few issues. (cheers Frank! )
The only thing was it was in London and I could not get a trailer, so I hired an A-frame from a friend of a friend and towed it back with my Rover. I have to say that those A-frames are brilliant. When you go round a bend you can see the towed car's steering wheel moving like it's being driven by the invisible man!!
