sluggish

Post by Finn »

Hi

After being off the road for a couple of months, my 67 saloon is lacking power. Starts ok, but no real power through gears. Does sound a bit rough though. Any ideas?

Thanks

Where to start! Ignition timing is the first vital check, followed by
mixture settings. If these are ok then it would be advisable to do
a compression check to get an indication of the engines basic
health. I assume that you can push the car easily in neutral on a
flat surface (binding brakes)!

Is it running on all four ? Could just be a mis-firing plug. take them all out and either fit new - or give them a good cleaning and re-set the gaps.
