Re: Spotted today.
looks a beauty. it kind of lifts the mood when you see one that looks as though it's just come out of a showroom. suggests that we'll still be seeing moggies chugging around for decades to come. especially with spares and parts so readily available. by the way, does anyone know roughly how many minors are still in regular use around the UK now? or worldwide? and how many people have got more than one? i recently replaced my modern ex company car with a restored minor saloon, with various upgrades for winter driving, but the plan to sell my convertible (converted saloon) to help pay for it didn't materialise as i couldn't bear to part with it when the time came. ergo, at the moment, i have one for winter and one for summer. which almost qualifies as a fleet, i reckon.

Just a few more days on the 747 Sim and then I'm free. Did 9.5 hours on it today. Knackered!

Re: Spotted today.
Here on the Costa del Sol, most pre-1990 cars are rarely seen and Moggies seem to be completely unknown. But... spotted on Saturday from the airport bus between Malaga and Torremolinos, an early/mid 1960s faded green Seat or Fiat 600 with a for sale sign in the window. Spotted today from the train, in the car park at La Colina station, a respectable-looking but obviously unwell white Citroen CX being attended by a mobile mechanic and his bright orange Citroen Dyane Fourgonnette. I was also nearly run down in Fuengirola by a very excited little boy in his battery-powered child-size Bugatti Veyron!

Re: Spotted today.
Afraid It's been pretty horrible where we are. Snowfall in Malaga on Sunday. Snow on the beach in Fuengirola yesterday. Heavy thunderstorm in Torremolinos yesterday and raining again now. Daytime highs of 11 or 12c.
Tenerife should be much better though! We'd normally be in Gran Canaria now (old bones as well !) but after the collapse of a well-known airline a few weeks back, and another still playing silly whatsits, we couldn't get guaranteed flights back to Birmingham

Re: Spotted today.
Desperate times; desperate measures... so a bit of a cheat here. Still in Spain. Saw a film archive today including a clip from a Spanish comedy movie entitled 'Objetivo Bikini' made in 1968 and immensely popular in post-fascist Spain but unheard of elsewhere (listed on IMDB very briefly). Street scene shot in La Nogalera district of Torremolinos Centro. Among many long-forgotten European cars (including a DKW Auto-Union 1000 and a rear-engined Simca) there was a glimpse of a black Minor Traveller with roof-rack full of luggage and a close-up of a left-hand-drive Austin A60 posing as a local taxi for the film's leading lady Gracita Morales as she escapes the clutches of the bad guy, a Bilko-esque Jose Luis Lopez-Vazquez.

Spotted today in Morrison's car park, Kidderminster. It's a 'J'-reg. Think I saw it at a local show last summer. Marina 1275 engine. Sierra 5-speed (iirc). Marina pedal-box. Disc brakes. Servo. Etc etc. Teal Blue so Adderley Park built (??)

Re: Spotted today.
IIRC that one was for sale on eBay a few months but it didn't have a Union Flag on the roof then. New owner... new motif...?

Re: Spotted today.
Not quite today, but I've recently watched a couple of Agatha Christie Miss Marple stories made for ITV around 2005/6. One of them had this Traveller in it, but the Registration now belongs to a 2010 Black Vauxhall...
Has the number been transferred and the car still survives? Pity if its gone in the past 12 years.
Or does someone around here know different?? Another episode had this Woolsley Police Car, TYP636, but that reg now belongs to a 350cc 1957 Douglas motorcycle, but showing a First Registration date in 1996.
Who knows, exported and then imported perhaps. '57 was the final year of Douglas motorcycles.
But it is a bit of a puzzle if in 2005/6 when the TV programme was made, this Reg had already been on a motorcycle for 10 years????
