I know this probably should be in the wanted section. But as they are hard to find, i wonder would anyone have or know where i can get a 803 gear knob. Bull motif, charles ware, esm or tom roy don't have any at present .
We know that old parts were used up in production as new models came out. Thus, for example, some early 1000s had SII type seats. So it is possible that some late 1956 SII cars may have had the round knob.
However, having owned two SII cars, from 1956 and (currently) 1955, I can confirm both had the button/mushroom type knob, as in the picture above. Even then, there were differences - one was a hard plastic type, the other a rubber one which went sticky in damp weather.......most unpleasant to the touch, so I replaced it with a plastic one.
Just spotted your photo. It's just like the gear knob on my '55 A30...also a 803 with the 'pudding stirrer ' gearbox. You can get them from the A30/A35 spares project. Lots of early Morris parts are available through the Austin club. I think that the two clubs should work together more. The cars are closely related.
