Wing mirror
My 54 is fitted with mirrors on the wings and also the drivers side has one drilled through the chrome top end of my door (quaterlight window) looking to find another to fit the passenger side but all the ones I have seen it looks at though the threaded part isn't long enough to go through to the inside of the car I know there's clip on mirrors but I'd rather keep is semetrical silly I know so looking for two new mirrors ideally il like to do away with the bolt through mirrors and fit 2 clip ons but this will leave me with a hole where it once was bolted

Re: Wing mirror
The threaded part isn't supposed to go right through to the inside of the car. You remove the triangular shaped trim from the door, drill a hole in the outer face and fit the mirror to that leaving the inner surface intact. Then you refit the trim to the car. You'll have to bend the trim slightly to refit but it will go back into shape easily and be held in place again with the 2 screws. You can then adjust the mirror to suit.
Re: Wing mirror
As above. With one of our sets we had to cut the post down by about 1/2" to avoid bending the triangular shaped trim too much. Easy enough to do, however.
Re: Wing mirror
So these would be ideal?

Re: Wing mirror
Yes, that looks like the ones I have fitted. I too had to cut a bit off the thread. You only need just enough to do the job.
Fitting them was probably the biggest single improvement I have made to my Minor! They improve visibility no end. They are not made of the finest materials and do deteriorate fairly quickly but they are very inexpensive and easy to replace if you have to.

Re: Wing mirror
When I did some front end repairs, the wing mirror holes were welded up and I now have two MGB / Midget door mirrors fitted to the doors. The Midget has a different mount from the MGB but the mirrors are the same. It works well.
