Hello everyone
My traveller (1969) needs a bit of TLC on the bodywork, which is beyond my limited skills. I'm also thinking of a respray. Does anyone know any good garages in the London/South East area who they would recommend? There are lots of body spray places around me (west London) but they're not classic car specialists and I'd rather take her to someone who is familiar with this kind of thing if I can...
All recommendations gratefully received!
Thanks
Alex

Re: Bodywork/respray
I've been told, by someone who worked in an accident repair place, that since it's common for repaired cars to be sold soon after the repair, corrosion resistance is swept under the carpet. That said, my MG Midget was painted in such a place (But the foreman was interested in classic cars and they were trying to drum up that kind of business), though I did all the corrosion treatment myself. It still looks good after going on for 30 years. You also have to beware of poor fitters; some places will have good body people but poor fitters (I would attach this label to one of the well known Minor specialists nearer me).
I have no experience of their body shop but if I were in your neck of the woods, I'd give http://www.morrisminorspares.com/ a try. It helps if they know the car. If the wood gets in the way, it won't floor them.

If you are anywhere near Ely, I highly recommend Ian Allen in Wichford. He advertises in Minor Matters. Excellent body and mechanical skills.

I second Ian Allen. He did our traveller around 10 years ago and it still looks brand new today - to the point where people don't believe it's not just been taken from the paint booth.
