Re: Glove box
Yes, Sandun. 1957 cars were fitted with two glovebox lids, the driver's side one will only open part way because of the steering column is in the way.....

Re: Glove box
I think what you are after are the inserts
There are several available and I think all will fit the 1957 but the correct one is the second No 12 on the CW catalogue . All the major suppliers do them and some hardy souls have refurbished and re-covered them successfully with a plush fabulon type material, saving considerable cash. Others have actually made their own.

They are available on e-bay but second hand ones in decent condition are rare they all suffered from water damage and are not the most robust things.

Re: Glove box
Ooh, yes - sorry, I didn't read your original post correctly, Sandun
My glovebox liners are stained, I wonder if they could be painted?

Re: Glove box
have a look at this post where Mark covered the interiors with flock fabulon. Very good look at a fraction of the cost of new innards

Re: Glove box
Thanks Jon. They look immaculate, maybe even too good for my old car!
I like the idea from woodiesenfrance of sloshing Dulux (presumably matt) emulsion around in them, though. Tricky picking the correct shade of colour, perhaps.............

Re: Glove box
I purchased ESM ones. Really good quality and excellent fit.

Re: Glove box
Are the ESM ones not simply of Newton Commercial manufacture? Hard to imagine there are 2 different sources?
