Mr Bird, It might be worth contacting KAR engine services, they may not want to give details of work carried out, but for your interest the minimum they ought to let you know is whether it had an unleaded head fitted when it left them and the date the engine was reconditioned.

spoke to kar engines in barnstaple and it is indeed one of their recons and the number is a date ,thanks again for the help.

That’s good news, funnily enough I had a feeling it was a recent rebuild, I was thinking 77th engine of 2016. But thought that was too obvious.

Spoke to them again this morning (very pleasant and helpful) they confirmed it was convertedfor lead free fuel and totally rebuilt on 7/7/16.
