Best way to tackle underside rust

To the good and noble people of the MMOC,
I went under my 1968 traveller for a completely unrelated issue and found a spot of rust developing in the underside of the rear section near the boot compartment (please see pics). Before this develops into a big issue I was hoping to catch it early, what would be the best way to tackle an issue like this? Any advice will be greatfully received

If it was me tackling this then I would remove all paint and underseal with possibly a heat gun with scrapper attachment .Use a 4" hand grinder with firstly a Turks head wire brush attachment to remove the worst and then change the head for a medium grade flap disc to finish. And last and by no means least paint over with a good quality paint and finish with lashings of wax oil and then stand back and admire.

Between the rust removal and the application of paint/waxol - go over the cleaned surface with FERTAN

It is the rust converter of choice by me and which was recommended to me by my local yacht chandeliers.
They also informed me that it in in great demand by the local classic car fraternity.
It is also recommended by Haynes Manuals and Waterway World.
Not cheap but good.
