Heater valve.

Post by cuk »

Hi,
does anyone know if theyre should be a spacer between the top of the engine head and under the heater valve (which is the cable operated type, not the the round tap wheel type)?
Or should the heater valve bolt straight onto the head with just a gasket underneath?

Cheers Paul.

Paul,
It bolts straight on without any spacer-just a gasket.

There should be a small flat steel spacer with a gasket below AND above it on the later cars with the cable operated valve.
It is described as a "packing piece" in the parts book.
