Hi all, I have to put a new gasket on my sump, could anyone please tell me how, if any, you have the half round cork ones overlapping, (hanging past the edge) and if you use any goo!
Cheers Tony

Re: Sump gasket
See Section AA.34 of the BMC wksp manual for instructions.
There is absolutely no need for 'goo'.
Smear the gaskets and the cork packing's in LM grease and fit as per the AA.34 instructions.
Trim the cork packing's so that when they are fully home they protrude by 1/8" at each corner.
Fit the gaskets (the grease will hold them in place) to the block and offer up the sump (with packing's fitted) to the block.
Tighten progressively diagonally around the sump. Tighten or torque to 6lb ft.
Make sure that all gasket contact faces are spotlessly clean before fitting the gaskets/packing's.
Here is Section AA.34 if you do not have access to a manual:-
