Clutch fork

Post by sam.bullen »

I am currently in the process of mating a 1275 ital engine to my 1098 gearbox, and want to be sure the clutch fork I have is the correct one. Originally my car had a 948 engine but has the 1098 ribbed case gearbox. Can anybody confirm that the image I have attached is the correct clutch fork.

Thanks,

Sam

Have a read of this:-

http://gerardsgarage.com/Garage/Tech/TO ... arings.htm

The 1098cc clutch release thrust pad is secured to the 1098cc clutch release arm by two angled spring plates (Pt No: 13H783 (MOSS)) which clip round the back of the release arm yoke. The 803cc/948cc thrust pad is secured to the release arm by two beehive type spring clips (Pt No: 7H3048) which clip in from the side and which are secured by and into a dimple on the rear of the release arm

A photo of the complete release arm and release pad securing clips would be of benefit.

An interesting read, thanks. I have attached pics of the requested info, hopefully it will help as I am still unsure as to whether the current clutch fork I have is for a 948 or 1098 gearbox...

Thank you for posting the photos.
I can confirm that the clutch fork in your photos is a 1098cc clutch fork Pt No: 22G166 (MOSS). Ignore the Pt No: 22G167 on the clutch arm as BMC part numbers were quite often one digit out when comparing forging numbers and the number quoted in the parts list.
