Garage Book Shelf

Post by FourBanger »

It’s always good to have a manual at hand, be it a pristine original copy or an oil stained hand me down Haynes (I have a mixture!).
What Morris Minor related books do people recommend?
Are there any workshop treasures we may have missed or any 3rd party text which got it all wrong?

Would love to hear your thought!

My book shelf consists of:

• SU Carburettors Tuning Tips & Techniques
• Morris Minor 1000 (56-71) Haynes Manual
• Morris Minor & 1000 by Lindsay Porter
• Tuning The A-Series Engine (3rd Edition)
• Lots more! I’ll update later 

I have the much 'father-thumbed' and oil streaked Blue lettered AKD530 which my dad used in the mid sixties on our 1953 Convertible and I now use for my 1957 4 Door.

The Morris Maria/Ital workshop manual is well worth having as it goes into a lot more detail than the Minor wksp manual and specifies engine torque settings which are not quoted in the Minor wksp manual.
The Marina/Ital parts list is also useful if you want to upgrade your Minor using Marina/Ital parts.

The majority of the items listed in the link are in my book case or filed away. Only the well used manuals etc. are kept in the garage.

Factory workshop manual and Haynes manual (factory one is better). I keep two copies of each, clean ones in the house for planning a job, horrible manky ones in the garage for when I'm working.
