fitting dynamator on Series 5

I have just changed over from having a dead dynamo to a dynamator and having few problems.

How do I wire it in?
Do I still need the regulator box?
Where would be the best place to mount the coil?

This might help? It is only an alternator in a lookalike dynamo casing.
