Ride Height

Post by MichaelBeckNZ »

Hi

What should the gap be between the top of the rear axle bumpstop and the body on a 2 door saloon? Mine is about 2 inches and seems low - Springs & dampers are good.

Just looking to compare & see whats normal.

Thanks!

I have increased the clearence to 3 inches by cutting one inch from the bump stop rubbers to give increased suspension travel. However it is important not to just cut off the top of the stop but to maintain the original taper so as to provide progressive compression of the rubbers as was originally intended. I cut mine on a band saw.
