Wheel colour

Just about to order some paint for my wheels. Do I go for an original silver colour or paint them old english white? I'm thinking they'll look better in the white. What's people's thoughts on this?

I believe (probably wrong again) that the silver is correct ( does it depend on Year ? I do not have Ray Newell's book to hand) but either looks good. If going for white I think that the `'gentle' OEIW No 2 - (I had an A 35 painted this colour and love its buttermilky colour) looks much better than a harsh pure white. It would look good against the lighter blue of your traveller.

Yeah that's sort of what I'm thinking. The more I look and search the more I think silver looks so wrong. Will look so much fresher in a white colour aswell.

The silver is "correct" for a Minor of that age and probably looked more modern at the time but I personally much prefer the off-white wheel colour - partly as it ties in with the grille. So I think you would improve the car by painting the wheels an off-white.
It is looking MUCH more of a car now!
Getting rid of the nasty modern plastic number plates would also transform it no end!

Although silver may be right for the year of your car , you can't beat old English white for wheel colour in my opinion.

Except on Clarendon Grey and Sage Green where the matching wheel and body colour / grille really works well.

I do concur on the body colour matching the wheels and grille actually and on most minor car colours tbh.

Don't think that would work with the Smoke Grey though Budgie, OEW would be better with that.

Couldn't agree more. Just surprised I never looked at my wheels properly before.
