Inserting dinitrol

Hi all,

Bought some dinitrol at a boot sale at very good price along with an extension/insertion tube. I plan on spraying into chassis leg, but there do people normally spray this in and/or do you normally drill some small holes to get access?

If you are able to remove the gearbox coverplate in the floor, you can access the chassis legs to insert a tube with a spray attachment at the end. That's how I did it.

Thats a great way of injecting the stuff in, I did drill two small holes right at the very front of the legs so I could attack them from that end as well, you can get the plugs to put in afterwards.

The ultimate way of getting the stuff in is with one of the proper wax injection guns with a compressor behind it, I have the one below and its a good bit of kit.

Either side of the boot floor are the openings for the rear chassis legs - usually blanked with a bit of foam - remove foam and inject Dinitrol into rear chassis legs.
The front & rear chassis legs of my Minor have been injected with waste oil and paraffin since new and still has the original chassis legs front & rear and is rust free around rear spring hangers.
A little preventative maintenance and waste oil and paraffin is all it takes to keep the Minor Body rust free.

Yes that's a good point, I did the job on a tarp and I put loads of cardboard down afterwards as it will drip out for days.

Get that over the block paving and thats going to be an ear bashing from the management.

The rear chassis legs are the same so access through the end of the chassis rails should still be available after removing the foam packing.

in between refilling the rear dampers this afternoon i had a look at the gearbox cover and it's a right old mess under the carpets there! I'll give it a go to remove one weekend where i have a bit of time. I may resort to drilling small holes in the legs and filling with rubber bungs once done - is this highly un-recommended?
