All this will get sorted eventually, I expect. Far worse is the disappearance of all the old pictures.

Seconded. Sorry but I believe as we are paying our new site provider for this site then they should reinstate our old pictures (over time of course accepting that there are an awful lot), as part of the service.All this will get sorted eventually, I expect. Far worse is the disappearance of all the old pictures.
At the very least they should have reinstated the restoration and mechanical sections pictures, as these were extremely useful to many on here.

Re: Size of pictures
What works for me when poiting pics direct from my PC is to right click on the image file (don't open it yet) hover over 'Open With' and select (in my case) Microsoft Office 2010. Then go to 'Edit Pictures' , then go to 'Compress Pictures' on the right hand side and click on the check box for 'web pages' and save - or save as something else if you want to keep the original file. Unless the original file is absolutely huge then the compressed file will be fine to upload onto this forum.
