Re: Vale: Roy Allingham (BMCecosse)
really sad news, a lot of experience of Roy will be missed, and his humor too
Wish his family all the best for this coming time.
as my late dad was a big morris (and steamengine) fan, his funeral 3 weeks ago looked like this;[frame][/frame]
would be a great thing for Roy too !

Thought you might like to see the loco in steam at Bo'ness (where Roy was a driver) on Saturday with a tribute on the smoke box door.[frame][/frame]

Re: Vale: Roy Allingham (BMCecosse)
Such sad news. It seems the signalman finally gave his 'Right Away' but it is right that we pause for a moment and acknowledge the tremendous contribution Roy made to our community.
I agree that it would be entirely fitting that there should be a Roy Allingham Prize for Best Working (or Everyday) Minor to be presented at the National Rally.

Re: Vale: Roy Allingham (BMCecosse)
Hi Folks,
Ray Newell, Secretary of the MMOC sent the following message to Roy's widow on Monday:
Can I, on behalf of the MMOC, pass on to you our sincere condolences on the recent passing of your husband, Roy.
As you already know, Roy was a prolific poster on the MMOC Forum, as well as other fora. On our forum alone he posted well over 50,000 times over his many years as a member of the group. I’m not sure that anyone has posted more times than Roy did.
Whilst his advice was sometimes typically Scottish - short and to the point - his wisdom and expertise were shared widely and I know there are many who valued his opinions and advice. He will be very sorely missed by us all.

It's not only here he will be missed, AC Dodd put a condolences message on Facebook and got responses from several Mini forums, Roy will be sorely missed in many places.

I couldn't find a message on the mini forum I frequent and I know Roy has 10,000 post on there, so I started a topic.MarkyB wrote:It's not only here he will be missed, AC Dodd put a condolences message on Facebook and got responses from several Mini forums, Roy will be sorely missed in many places.
He seems to have got a lot of enjoyment out of helping people get their motors back on the road.
